"There is no substitute for physical encounters. Painting feeds off encounters, just as we do, and opens up another perception of life, things and natural phenomena. The pandemic has given rise to a void in direct social contact. In this void, I search for encounters for the first time on 3 x 5-metre, wall-filling white surfaces. I touch, paint, shape and modulate them with colour and tools. In this way, four paintings evolved for the ZDF Digitale Kunsthalle, filling and expanding the exhibition space and inviting encounters with them."
