SETAREH presents a global selection of contemporary and modern art. Established in 2013, the gallery is anchored in the Rhineland whilst operating internationally. SETAREH acts as an inclusive platform, dedicated to the promotion of and dialogue between contemporary, emerging and modern artists. The selected exhibitions are shown at three locations: Koenigsallee 27, 31 and Hohe Straße 53, which opened in 2016, as SETAREH X.
X is a further space that works to enhance SETAREH’s mission of continued support and promotion for young and emerging art across all borders.

Over the past seven years, SETAREH has established itself as a gallery that stages a wide-variety of exhibitions with a global cultural approach. Exhibitions such as “A Gesture of Conviction. Women of Abstract Expressionism. Works from the 1950s and 60s”, “IRAN ART NOW!” or “ZERO International”, along with major shows on the oeuvre of Hans Hartung and others, reflect the gallery's focus on promoting artistic and curatorial diversity. While keeping in line with the annual exhibition GENIUS LOCI, which focuses on the spirit of the place by gathering emerging young contemporary positions of the Rhineland and beyond, SETAREH is entering a new contemporary direction.

Beyond its exhibitions and art fair programs, SETAREH handles for artist estates such as Achim Duchow, Memphis Schulze and Mohsen Vaziri-Moghaddam, et al.

Behind the scenes, the two founders and brothers - Samandar Setareh and Elham Setareh - started well before 2013. In the early sixties, the family inherited a thriving space in which textile artworks and high end fabrics were exposed. In the early 90s the brothers took over the 3rd generation family-run métier of textile art and expanded it into Germany’s leading collection. Growing up in an environment which was impacted by diverse artistic dialogues, their eye for colours, patterns, history and culture naturally matured and led them on the path to the gallery. They are driven by encounters of creative minds from different backgrounds and believe in the emanating, virtuous and inclusive powers of cultural discourse.
